As consultants, we first understand the needs of our clients and design a creative benefit strategy to meet their organizational goals. Benefit design is informed by the client’s budget, leading published competitive intelligence, current knowledge of employment trends, as well as decades of expertise.
Vendor Selection & Insurance Brokerage
Vendors are selected for a tailored fit our clients organizational goals. For benefit plans funded by insurance, we broker policies among top insurance companies. We scan the market to get the best deal possible for our clients. We review policy terms, provider networks, funding arrangements, and compare benefits as well as costs. We then provide the client with an executive summary of options in an easy-to-follow comparison spreadsheet. When necessary, we negotiate terms with the insurance company to get the best solution for the client. Ultimately, our clients choose insurance policies with confidence those are the best fit for their organizational goals. We are fully licensed for Life & Health insurance and appointed with all major carriers.
Once benefits, carriers, and policies are selected, we create financial analyses including cost-sharing strategies which achieve our clients’ goals for financial performance. This analysis essentially establishes the clients’ actual benefit cost for the plan year and supports budgeting estimates from earlier phases.
Communication & Enrollment
Once the cost-sharing strategies are finalized, we then create materials to communicate benefits and costs to employees. These materials include forms and notices to document what benefits are offered to employees as well as their rights as potential plan participants. Communicating benefits is one way to demonstrate the value of benefits to employees and support the client’s cultural values. To enroll employees, we utilize appropriate technology and work with all vendors to ensure a smooth transition. Throughout the year, we process enrollment changes as employees are hired or leave.
Throughout each step in our approach, we are constantly scanning policies and procedures to identify and fix gaps that may exist in compliance. Our experts are highly trained in federal laws which apply to employee benefits such as ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, HITECH, COBRA, and the Internal Revenue Code, as well as applicable state laws.
